All Things Shall Pass

It looks like we have gotten past Addie's fear of the bath. It took a lot of bubbles and "magic bathtub" rides, but she seems content to get wet again.

It seems as though Addie has had a lot of changes in the past couple months - weaning, switching to whole milk, new foods, walking, etc. We have one more change that is coming up - drinking her milk from a sippy cup. Currently, she drinks juice from a sippy cup, and likes to drink water from a regular cup (I would never dream of letting her drink anything other than water from a regular cup at this time). We haven't made the switch to milk in the sippy cup. We tried it once a few weeks ago and it didn't go so well, so I figured we would wait and try again. We will be working on that starting this weekend. Wish us luck!

Addie's Biggest Fear

So it is official...Addie is entering Toddlerhood. We have entered the stage where she begins to have fears. It has been a slow growing process. I noticed at her birthday party that she was starting to develop a fear of stangers and becoming more attached to Chris, her nanny and me. And little things have caught my attention since then. But this week she had a full blow fear factor moment. She is completely frightened of the bath. This is the same child that would sit in her tub every night trying to see how much water she could splash on mommy and daddy.

After frantically searching the books, internet and asking friends I have been reassured that it is nothing Chris and I have done - we didn't break her... But we are trying some techniques to distract herduring bathtime. Last night we blew bubbles and had the dog in the bathroom while she stood up in the bathtub and we did a quick wipe down. Tonight, Chris got smart and took her in a dry tub earlier in the evening and played in it with her. She actually sat in the water tonight, but was not happy. We are hopeful this phase will pass quickly.
