Addie and Daddy

In honor of Father's Day this month, here are a few pictures of Addie and her Daddy.

A Budding Gymnast

Addie "performed" in the Summer Showcase for her tumbling class. She is one of the younger kids in teh class and has no fear as she runs from one aparatus to another. We may have a future olympian on our hands.

Addie the Artist

I got daring this weekend and bought some WASHABLE markers to see if Addie would enjoy a little arts & crafts time. I was quite surprised and how excited she was. Thank goodness the markers are non-toxic, though since Addie kept shoving them in her mouth for a quick taste.

Daddy's Softball Party

Chris played on a softball team with some friends this past winter. The team won the league championship - yaahhh! Addie and Dawson got to hang out at the celebration party. They were so entertained by the adults they hung out by the door trying to figure out a way to break free!

A Little Gymnast in Training

We enrolled Addie in a Little Tumblers class. It is like a pre-gymnastics class for little ones. Addie is really taking a liking to it. If you look in the background of this picture you will see that the rest of her class is participating in activities on the mat, but not Addie. She took the opportunity to hang on the bars while there was no line. She is a smart little cookie (or maybe a little anti-social...).

Sunny Days Are Here Again!

Addie really likes playing in the sand - it doesn't matter if it is at the park or at the beach. She also tends to bring most of the sand home with her :-)

When Life Hands You a Lemon...

...Just suck the juice right out of it!

Happy Mother's Day

I am such a lucky mommy! I enjoyed a special Mother's Day breakfast with my favorite people - Chris and Addie and spent the rest of the day relaxing.
Happy Mother's Day to all of the fantastic moms out there!

Addie and Mimi

Addie got to show off her favorite place in town to her Mimi. We went to the Aquarium, where it was hard to keep up with Addie now that she is so mobile. This time she was able to chase the birds in the Lorakeet exhibit and check out what was going on in the petting tanks.

I Think She's Turning Japanese

Addie's nanny just got back from a vacation in Japan. Addie got more than just a T-shirt for a souvenir. Zilda brought Addie these ADORABLE kimonos. My mom and I had so much fun playing dress up with her. Addie is turning into quite a girly girl posing and twirling around. She even wanted to accessorize with her little japanese tote bag :-) I think we could take her to Tokyo and she would fit right in!

Pretty as a Picture!

While we were in FL, we were so lucky to have the opportunity to have my cousin Nicki take Addie's 12 month portraits (ok - I realize they were more like 13 month portraits). All I can say is that I have a wonderfully talented cousin and well a pretty cute baby. So the combination created the most adorable pictures ever! I was so anxious to show these off, I scanned the sneak preview pictures she printed for me!

Anyone in need of a photographer in Broward or Dade county, I urge you to check out my cousin Nicki. http://nickikristof.com/. You can also find her on Facebook :-)

Trip to South FL

Addie playing in the fountain at Veterans Park.

Addie putting her feet in the Atlantic Ocean for the second time. At least this time she actually enjoyed it!

Addie re-celebrating her birthday with her wonderful cousins.

We had a wonderful time in South Florida visiting with friends and family. The trip, as always, was too short. But, we are hoping to make another trip in the fall.

All Things Shall Pass

It looks like we have gotten past Addie's fear of the bath. It took a lot of bubbles and "magic bathtub" rides, but she seems content to get wet again.

It seems as though Addie has had a lot of changes in the past couple months - weaning, switching to whole milk, new foods, walking, etc. We have one more change that is coming up - drinking her milk from a sippy cup. Currently, she drinks juice from a sippy cup, and likes to drink water from a regular cup (I would never dream of letting her drink anything other than water from a regular cup at this time). We haven't made the switch to milk in the sippy cup. We tried it once a few weeks ago and it didn't go so well, so I figured we would wait and try again. We will be working on that starting this weekend. Wish us luck!

Addie's Biggest Fear

So it is official...Addie is entering Toddlerhood. We have entered the stage where she begins to have fears. It has been a slow growing process. I noticed at her birthday party that she was starting to develop a fear of stangers and becoming more attached to Chris, her nanny and me. And little things have caught my attention since then. But this week she had a full blow fear factor moment. She is completely frightened of the bath. This is the same child that would sit in her tub every night trying to see how much water she could splash on mommy and daddy.

After frantically searching the books, internet and asking friends I have been reassured that it is nothing Chris and I have done - we didn't break her... But we are trying some techniques to distract herduring bathtime. Last night we blew bubbles and had the dog in the bathroom while she stood up in the bathtub and we did a quick wipe down. Tonight, Chris got smart and took her in a dry tub earlier in the evening and played in it with her. She actually sat in the water tonight, but was not happy. We are hopeful this phase will pass quickly.

Addie at Play

Addie takes a great little class through Parks and Recs here. She loves the music and dancing. Now that she is walking, she is one of the "big girls!" Here are a few pictures of Addie at play.

Happy Birthday - Part Two

We had a wonderful time celebrating Addie and Dawson's birthday this weekend! We were enjoying our time visiting with friends so much that we realized we didn't take as many pictures as we wanted to. Lesson learned...
We were so happy that everyone could make it. We appreciate all of the birthday wishes and presents!

Happy Birthday!

"Wake up, Addie. It's your Birthday!"

Addie got a cupcake for her birthday. It did't take her long to figure out how yummy it was.

Bodhi even tried to get a few crumbs of the birthday cupcake.

Today is Addie's first Birthday! I cannot tell you how fast the past year has gone by. I think the biggest thing for Chris and I to celebrate is that we didn't "break her". When she came into the world we thought she was so fragile. We were just so afraid we would break her. Now she is taking steps, falling down, laughing and getting back up. She is a wild one and we love it. I can only imagine what the next year has in store for us.

Thanks to all of those who have helped support us with kind words, advice or just an ear to listen when we needed it. As much as we are celebrating Addie's first birthday, we are also celebrating all of the people who have helped to get us here. We love and miss you all!

Happy Birthday Week

"I found Nemo"

"Daddy, there is a bird pooping on your head!"

We kicked off Addie's Birthday Week by going to the Aquarium of The Pacific this weekend. Addie LOVED the Lorakeet exhibit and the birds seemed to love Chris. We had a great time watching Addie get excited over the bright colored fish. We took her there a few months ago, but this time seemed to be whole new experience for her because she was pointing and jibberjabbing at everthing.

The countdown begins...

We have started our countdown to Feb 12th. We can't believe Addie and Dawson will 1 year in just a couple weeks. They will be celebrating their birthday together. Maybe they will even smash a little cake in each other's face :-)

Let it snow!

Last weekend we went up to Big Bear. Addie got to see snow for the first time. All she wanted to to was eat it. Don't worry we made sure it wasn't yellow.

Rose Parade 2009

We took Addie to look at the Rose Parade floats this year. If you ever have the chance to see these floats in person, definitely do so. Television just doesn't do them justice - they are more spectacular in person.
Addie loved it and started pointing at the floats. She is now pointing at everything, so I guess it was a learning experience, too.

The Romance Continues...

Addie and Dawson's romance is continuing into 2009! We have plans in the works for a double birthday party. Can you believe they are almost one!?!

All The New Toys!

The week after Christmas was exciting for everyone! Addie enjoyed her new toys. We enjoyed watching her play with her new toys. And Bodhi got exercise running from a newly mobile Addie on her new toys.

Santa Brought Gifts - I Was a Good Girl!!

Addie was a bit cranky on Christmas morning. Maybe she thought mommy and daddy were taking too long to get her out of her crib!

Mommy and her favorite little elf

Addie scored this Chrismas. Santa must have thought that she was a very good girl this year. So much so, that mommy and daddy had to purchase a new toy box to hold all her new stuff.

What's up Cuz??

Addie went to FL to visit her cousins. They had a fun but brief visit. Addie is looking forward to visiting their great big playroom with all the fun toys again!
